There and Back Again

After an overnight stay, Nicole was discharged from the hospital this afternoon (Friday, 10-03-14).  Not that we like Nicole being sick enough to be in the hospital, but is it always nice to see our ICS "family", and for them to see Nicole.  She is doing much better today than yesterday - the anti-viral medicine seems to be doing its work.  We will continue to administer this to her at home as an IV infusion, twice per day for the next several days (it takes a couple hours per infusion).  Nicole's next clinic visit is on Monday (10-06), and it will be interesting to see how her platelets are doing; we are very optimistic that the doctors have finally gotten to the root cause of the problem, but time will tell...
