Heavenly help

Nicole had a clinic visit Monday (9-29-14).  She received her monthly IV antibiotic. She also needed platelets and a blood transfusion. Again a normal long day at clinic.  Nicole also has a virus in her blood that could also be causing her platelets to be low. The bone marrow team decided we could go home.  As our clinic visit continued Nicole blood pressure keep going up.  We were in clinic for 9 hours with all the infusions and the nurse practitioner was getting nervous about us going home to Hyrum.  If we lived any further they wouldn't have let us go home.  James and I decided that it was ok for us to go home to Hyrum.  After we left PCMC we headed to my sister's house and threw things in the back of our cars and headed home!!  It is great to be home!!
Nicole wanted the camera so I would stop taking pictures of her:)

Nicole going home!!

Thanks to a friend for helping my girls decorate for Nicole's homecoming!

A friend reminded me of a talk a few weeks ago by Elder Holland "The Ministry of Angels."  I have thought about it and have read it a few times. So much of this talk I would like to share, but I will only share this small part:  "I have spoken here of heavenly help, of angels dispatched to bless us in time of need. But when we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil. Some of them we walk with and talk with—here, now, every day. Some of them reside in our own neighborhoods. Some of them gave birth to us, and in my case, one of them consented to marry me. Indeed heaven never seems closer than when we see the love of God manifested in the kindness and devotion of people so good and so pure that angelic is the only word that comes to mind." In the April conference of this year (2014) Bishop Stevenson shared these words:  Remember, you are not alone. The Savior has promised that He will not leave you comfortless. (John 14:18) You also have family, friends, and leaders who are cheering you on. (https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/04/your-four-minutes?lang=eng)

Nicole journey isn't over yet.  She is still immune-compromised.  Her platelets still are not producing and they need to be watched closely.  She isn't allowed to go to church or other large crowds. She still has other struggles such as learning to eat and separation anxiety.  Even with these obstacles that she needs to overcome we are grateful that the challenges we are facing now are manageable.

We have felt Heavenly help in this journey over the course of the three years we have been battling cancer.  We are grateful for old friends and new friends we have met along the way.  Our lives will never be the same because of each one of you.  Some may be thinking they didn't anything grand; but, I promise you that your prayers have carried us and will continue to carry us until our race is finished.
